Natasha has received several awards for her writing, and for her work as local Louisiana indie film producer.
Natasha was recently honored as an Official Finalist in the Kansas City Film Festival's screenwriting contest for Best Short Screenplay, for her script, "Outlaw Sue".
She is a proud recipient of the W. Wilson Goode Leadership in Writing Award, for her essay, "Street Smarts". Natasha was also awarded an Honorable Mention for her play, "Stranger in a Diner" for NYC-based Young Playwrights Competition.
Natasha & co-producer, Hop & Jaunt Media, were presented with the Alice Honorable Mention Award for their 48 Hour Project, "Muffins", during the 2017 contest.
Natasha graduated from Meisner-based, NYC conservatory, The William Esper Studio, in 2014. She studied Technique, Movement and Advanced Scene Study with Terry Knickerbocker, and Voice with Nancy Mayans. Natasha also graduated from The Creative Writing Program at NOCCA (The New Orleans Center for Creative Arts), where she studied Poetry, Short Fiction and Film with Brad Richard.
Natasha first began studying literature and playwriting when she was placed in advanced English classes as a child, under the wing of New York Times best-selling biographer, Blake Bailey.
Natasha currently studies Kung Fu & Kickboxing with The Shaolin Institute in New Orleans, LA and Atlanta, GA.
Bio on Natasha Brown:
Natasha was born & raised in New Orleans and moved to NYC at age 16. She has written several plays, a half dozen film shorts, a novel, a collection of flash fiction and her own television series, "T.O.A.S.T.!".
Amongst her favorite writers are: Philip K. Dick, Fyodor Dostoevsky, Tennessee Williams, Pam Houston, Junot Diaz, David Sedaris, Carson McCullers, Jonathan Lethem, Vladimir Nabokov, Gallway Kinnel, J.D. Salinger, Toni Morrison & F.Scott Fitzgerald. Natasha wants to meet actresses Sigourney Weaver & Robin Wright, as she admires their work greatly.
Natasha is forever indebted to her wonderful teachers at: Lusher Extension (Blake Bailey), The New Orleans Center for Creative Arts (Tom Whalen & Brad Richard), and The William Esper Studio (Terry Knickerbocker, Ted Morin, David Newer & Nancy Mayans).

Natasha is a member of several Louisiana organizations, and volunteers her time to support community building in New Orleans.
Natasha is a Committee Board Member with WiFT (Women in Film & Television), an active inner-city public school reading tutor with S.T.A.I.R. (Start the Adventure in Reading) and a tree planter/hurricane relief rebuilder with The NOLA Tree Project.
Natasha also supports Seed Global Health - read about it here! And The Girl Effect (a part of Global Giving) - which helps girls by creating lasting, perpetual change! And additionally, The Louisiana Bucket Brigade - to take a stand in ENDING petrochemical pollution in beautiful Louisiana (and surrounding Gulf Coast areas)!
